Welcome to Paulie Wants to Write, where one man’s midlife crisis meets a long held dream of becoming a video game writer. I’m Paul, and this is my attempt to transition from a perfectly respectable career as a middle-manager into a wildly competitive field I have no formal experience in—because what’s life without a little chaos?

For years, I told myself it was ridiculous to even try. No training. No industry connections. And, let’s be honest, while I love games I'm certain there are others who love them more. But despite all the reasons not to pursue this, one truth remains: Paulie wants to write.
